    The Role:

    Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Contracts Manager for the Supply Chain and Compliance organization that has experience with commercial transactions and a passion for driving business and process efficiencies. This key procurement role is responsible for a broad range of operational and contract administrative matters, including facilitating contract workflow, collaborating with internal stakeholders, negotiating fallback contractual provisions, reporting, creating process improvements, and participating in special projects. Key leadership traits required include the ability to form strong partnerships with principal business owners, the Legal Department, Finance and Tax teams, in support of high-visibility projects and initiatives. This individual contributor role will coordinate across Supply Chain Global Category Managers (GCMs), Indirect Sourcing and internal and external Legal counsel to track transactions and develop practice standards that enable teams to work more efficiently and scale in support of our rapid growth.

    Primary duties of this role:

    · Act as leader, business advisor and transactional manager to cross-functional teams to direct each transaction to the next stage of the process.
    - Serve as the principal subject matter expert in all forms of commercial agreement used by the Global Commodity Management and Indirect Sourcing organizations, including legal practice standards and fallback guidelines set by the Legal Department.
    · Act as a subject matter expert for the organization in the application of the Amazon Spending and Transaction Policy and in Amazon’s contract approval processes.
    · Proactively monitor major contracts for renewals, SLAs, KPI attainment and other time-based or performance-based triggers that could impact the business. Develop contract practice standards, operating procedures and systems that enable the broader team of Global Category Managers to scale and work more efficiently and effectively.
    · Track and manage the end to end process from kickoff to full execution and digital storage of all agreements. Communicate these results through weekly metrics reporting.

    Basic Qualifications

    · Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required.
    · 5+ years of contracts management and negotiation experience with primary and autonomous responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of standard commercial contracts within a Procurement or Legal Department at a multinational corporation.
    · Experience with basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms (i.e., indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties, intellectual property, data rights, confidentiality

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) or Law Degree preferred
    · Highest degree of ethics and integrity.
    · Skilled at explaining contract terms to both legal and non-legal professionals.
    · Exceptional attention to detail and a bias for action in a fast-paced work environment.
    · Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication and prioritization.
    · Extremely customer-focused with strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
    · Strong negotiator with experience in setting negotiation objectives and tactics, and planning for and conducting negotiations.
    · Strong analytical skills including the ability to synthesize, distill and draw conclusions from data.
    · Excellent oral and written communication skills.
