    The AI Devices team within AWS is responsible for setting the AI device strategy and delivering machine learning capabilities across multiple devices and market segments to AWS customers.

    A successful candidate will bring a passion for technology, strong business acumen and judgment, ability to define visionary, ground breaking products, desire to have an industry wide impact and ability to work within a fast moving environment in a large company to rapidly deliver products and services that have a broad business impact.

    As a Sr. Hardware Product Manager, you will own defining, executing, and delivering a technology roadmap that expands our device offerings and delivers new experiences to our customers. you will help drive technology innovation in the form of products, features, and platforms that deeply integrate hardware, software, and services. You will help create and drive the long-term strategy, vision, and roadmap, with a high degree of ownership over critical features and the customer experience.

    This role is inherently cross-functional—you will work closely with engineering, science, operations, finance and executive teams to set technology strategy, define and prioritize features that can be implemented in silicon, which in turn help deliver new customer experiences for AWS AI devices. A successful candidate must be able to assess and build consensus around the most critical problems to be solved through a given suite of features in silicon, establish a feedback loop with the hardware architecture team, build multi-year roadmaps that intersect our long-term device strategy, and secure executive support for the features and technology roadmap. You’ll bridge technical and business worlds engaging with matrixed teams including engineering, operations, legal, and you must drive internal stakeholder and partner engagements necessary for the on-time launch of the product.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Lead Product Definition – Own and drive the customer working backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals and working backwards documents (press release, FAQ) including customer and market feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction.

    Define Product Vision – Including all aspects to future roadmap, investment, innovation and experimentation.

    Lead Technology Vision – Work with architecture and various technology teams to align technology development with product roadmap
    Execution of Product Planning and Development – Including customer goals and business requirements for product release, ensuring implementation is aligned with product goals and requirements, and ownership of product positioning.

    Lead Product Launch – Own the GTM plan to deliver results that ensure the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans.

    Lead Operations – Including monitoring and response to customer feedback, continuous improvement and business growth

    Lead interaction with Technical Team – Including helping the technical team make tradeoffs based on customer requirements, QA/testing of the product.

    Influence senior leaders across Amazon and communicate Amazon AI’s vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact





    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a technical discipline
    • 7+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of managing end-to-end integration of a technology into a customer facing device or silicon.
    • Product management experience in mass market consumer or developer-facing electronics
    • Experience managing digital products including both hardware and software components through multiple product lifecycles
    • Experience working on Android, iOS, Windows or other mobile software/applications
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on deadlines
    • Experience coordinating hardware development cycles and software development schedules
    • Experience with mobile technology, SoC platforms, compute engines like GPU and CPU, and machine learning.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or Master’s degree
    • Experience as either hardware or software developer in one of the following areas: machine learning, CPU or MCUs, sensors for consumer devices, GPU, audio DSPs.
    • Demonstrated history of shipping consumer electronics products that involve hardware and software.
    • Experience in one or more following technology development areas: display, sensors, audio, video, computer vision, wireless, materials, batteries.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
    • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
    • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
