Our team of Hardware Development Engineers is tasked with solving systemic hardware issues and building systems to detect and mitigate any future recurrences and improve the quality of services to our customers. As a member of the AWS Hardware Engineering organization, you will work with other subject matter experts in compute and storage technologies to develop and deliver the best customer experience in cloud computing. You will lead cross functional investigations within AWS infrastructure organizations and work closely with the different AWS Services such as EC2, S3, EBS, etc.
We are seeking candidates with a background in Memory or Storage controller interfaces. Ideal candidates will have a background in issue reproduction, system log analysis, low level debugging, and knowledge of how these components interact with the system at the BIOS and Operating System levels.
BS degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS
5+ years of relevant work experience of relevant work experience with server compute/storage platforms.
3+ years of advanced support experience to quickly identify, root cause, and resolve issues.
Master degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS
Deep and up to date technical understanding of protocols and debugging methods for Memory or Storage Controller technologies with prior experience both launching new product as well as driving continuous product improvements.
Debugging Firmware and/or BIOS interoperability issues that can impact system uptime and reliability.
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals across functional teams and ability to meet or exceed expected timelines for projects.
Ability to thrive in a startup environment.
Demonstrated ability to uncover systemic issues and drive failure analysis to root cause swiftly and accurately.
Ability to influence cross functional teams and external partners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
