    On the Echo Software team, you’ll help build software to enable Alexa’s capabilities everywhere – in speakers, appliances, wearables, robots, and more! We’re working with industry leaders to seamlessly integrate Alexa into any and all devices.     AVS is looking for talented, detail oriented and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to join the team who can own the project quality aspect end to end. We engage QAEs at the beginning of the project to understand business requirements and technical implementation and test code at the user level and code level both manually or with automated tool. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, along with test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, test execution and reporting, Improving test coverage, reviewing and filling gaps in existing automation. Representing the customer, understanding how they use the system and including the most relevant end to end user scenarios in test plans and automation.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
    • 5+ years of QA experience
    • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
    • Ability to understand technical specifications and analyze log files
    • Experience in Java/Perl/Python based automation and/or user-level
    • Knowledge of UNIX environment and Shell scripting is desired.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of system performance and scaling
    • Knowledge of client application automation frameworks
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
    • Attention to detail, and the ability to pick up new tools and technologies quickly
