As a Sr. Applied Scientist you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with both internal teams and outside partners to drive innovation on key aspects that have product impact. You will use your strong analytical skills to guide algorithms and ultimately data-driven decision making. As part of a technology team, your work will have a large impact on cloud software services and infrastructure as well as in edge device hardware, internal software, ecosystem, and ultimately the lives of Amazon customers. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You must also be able and willing to multi-task and learn new technologies quickly.
Some of your key responsibilities include: · Development and evauation of CV algorithms. · Broad cross-functional engineering interaction with an emphasis on delighting customers with innovation in the consumer electronics space · Drive system level decisions on cloud services sizing, cloud/edge architecture keeping user experience at highest standards · Keeps the customer in mind when designing systems · Is comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership and never shies away from a challenge · Help build robust methodology and processes to deliver technology to products.
- Master Degree or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering - 5+ years of experience on research and development - Industry experience in topics related to Computer Architecture, Image processing, Computer Vision - C++ development skills - Comfortable with Linux development environment
- Understand System Level Architecture - Industry experience with embedded SoCs or Cloud Infrastructure - Experience with Machine Learning and Computer Vision frameworks - Experience in software and algorithm optimization - Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills - Experience with Power Management & Thermal is a plus - Strong analytical skills and excellent data-analysis
