The AWS Messaging & Targeting team delivers innovative services that address the targeting and engagement needs of our customers. Current services include Amazon Pinpoint, AWS SNS Global SMS, Amazon Mobile Analytics and AWS Simple Email Service that together deliver billions of emails, push notifications and text messages around the world every day. As the Senior Manager of Development for the Messaging organization within AWS Messaging & Targeting, you will be responsible for the development and operations of AWS Simple Email Service, Amazon SNS Global SMS and Amazon SNS Mobile Push. You will manage the roadmap for future product development, including additional digital engagement channels, new features for existing services, operational improvements for existing services, and regional expansion. In this role, you will have a chance to interact with large AWS customers, including leading-edge enterprises and high-growth startups, and use their feedback to drive innovation. You will be hands-on with your engineering teams based in Seattle and Europe, and work closely with Product Management, senior leadership and partner teams spanning targeting, analytics and anti-abuse. You will hire talented engineers and bring them together as a team that innovates and delivers. You will leverage your experience with web-scale development teams, technologies and operations to build secure, reliable, scalable, fast, cost-effective services with high operational quality. You will help set – and will be expected to deliver on – aggressive goals for adoption, operational performance, and feature delivery.
You will report to the General Manager of AWS Messaging & Targeting and be part of the AWS engineering leadership team. You will play a critical role in building the engineering and operational roadmap, setting operational standards, defining resource requirements and overall influence of our long-term technical and business strategy.
To be successful in this role you will need an established background in building and leading web-scale software teams, interacting closely with customers and building strong partner relationships to deliver mutual benefits. Strong team building skills are essential as you will be building and leading multiple teams across different locations.
