    The Amazon Alexa Information team designs and creates customer focussed experiences around Music, Movies and TVs that run on Alexa. What will you help us create?

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, TPMs, product product managers and other team members to determine appropriate performance SLAs for all changes (new features as well as updates)
    • Be responsible for performance of cloud software components, determining current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selection of new concepts and methodology, and development of core systems/components
    • Be responsible to engage with all technical as well as non-technical stakeholders to ensure the timely performance validation of our cloud services
    • Be responsible to follow design principles, select design patterns and mentor junior team members
    • Prepare technical requirements and software design specifications for improving exiting and future cloud services

    Basic Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 7+ years of software development experience
    • 4+ years of experience in OO programming languages (Java, C++) and open-source technologies/frameworks (Linux, Spring, Guice, javax-rs)
    • Engineering process experience with the Agile Software Development principles
    • 2+ experience working on a large scale deployments and performance tuning.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree
    • Experience working with products and services running in cloud.
    • Experience with scaling up.
    • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
    • The ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life
    • Programming skills with variety of modern programming languages (Java, C/C++, NodeJS, Python) and open-source technologies/frameworks (Linux, busy box, Spring, Guice)
    • Good understanding of various JAVA open source libraries knowing what works and what doesn’t and why.
    • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical colleagues
    • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects and products that can scale.
    • Strong business and technical vision
    • Deep hands-on technical expertise.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
