Job Description

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Echo. As part of Lab126, the Pre-Owned Business team is in charge of the resale of all pre-owned Amazon first party devices. The team also manages the Amazon Devices Trade-In program, decreasing customer friction to purchasing new devices by offering value for their existing consumer electronic devices.

The Business Analyst role is specific to the Pre-Owned Business team, working on both Amazon Device Pre-Owned Sales and the Trade-In program. The role will give the candidate the opportunity to work across all product lines and device generations, focusing on using analytics to help the team make optimal decisions on behalf of our customers.

The candidate will be responsible for building data-based cases in support of business decisions. Utilizing a range of data sources and analytical tools, the candidate will be in charge of projects such as forecasting, pricing optimization, and analysis of customer data. In addition to project work, the candidate will refine and maintain the success metrics of the group to ensure the health of the business. The candidate will not only analyze data, but also draw insights and drive changes in the business.

Basic Qualifications

- BA/BS degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in a Business Analyst or comparable analytics role
- Experience reporting (verbally and written) data findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, using hard data to back up assumptions and develop business cases

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and Excel, basic fluency of VBA
- Ability to build financial models and apply basic statistical techniques (i.e. hypothesis testing, regression modeling).
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to translate ambiguous business requirements into complex analyses and actionable insights
- Strong technical competency and ability to learn new systems

Lab126 is part of the Amazon.com, Inc. group of companies and is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation
