Job Description

  • Amazon Web Services is looking for talented software engineers with experience and interest in building user interfaces. Our team works to build web services and applications to automate the process of planning, building and verifying millions of servers and related components for all of AWS. Our mission is to build complex UIs for graph-oriented data, clients to existing backend services provided by other teams at Amazon and new backend services of our own using AWS.

    We currently use the following technologies:
    • JavaScript (ES2015+) and Elm
    • AWS backend services like API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Proficiency in a front-end language like Elm, JavaScript, Objective-C or Swift
  • Proficiency in at least one front-end web development framework such as React, Angular, Rails, Django, Vue.js.
  • Experience with HTTP APIs and RESTful web services
  • Understanding of web browser APIs and behavior
  • Excellent technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to open source projects
  • Experience and talent for UI/UX and design
  • Experience with automated testing, test-driven development and/or behavior-driven development
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task while ensuring high quality of results
  • Dedication to high standards of code quality and testing
  • Passion for building a rich and innovative user experience
  • Demonstrable track record as an owner: someone who can take a concept and make it real.
