Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

The Role:
As a senior member of the Reliability Research team, you will be responsible for researching into the reliability requirements and performance of emerging technologies. You will be responsible for translating customer behavior and expectations into device/product target metrics. You will demonstrate a strong set of fundamentals in engineering, coupled with a leadership in data collection, analysis/mining and classification. This role presents the scope on influencing definition of next generation design-for-reliability attributes through utilization of principles of machine learning and classification. A successful candidate will be hands-on with demonstrated ability to use computational tools for analyzing data, as well as demonstrating a strong understanding of how the data translates to customer experience and expectations. You will also demonstrate a strong desire to learn from new challenges, and demonstrate well developed problem solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive, fast paced, experienced and diverse team. You will also be responsible for working with external partners, including coaching and mentoring them in principles of data analytics and machine learning. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to integrate feedback and to respond quickly to changing contexts and work environments.

You will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for consumers. The team is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists engaged in a fast paced mission to deliver new products. The team faces a challenging task of balancing cost, schedule, and performance requirements. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, and contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and meticulousness.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field
  • 3+ years of on-job experience of large data analysis using statistical tools, development of numerical algorithms for predictive modeling
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD degree
  • Experience with machine learning and classification algorithms for big data analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
This position will require international travel.
