Job Description

Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile, portable, hand-held consumer electronics products, like the Kindle family of products including e-readers and tablets.

The Role:

As a Build and Release Engineer, you will provide support for developing build scripts and tools that will improve the efficiency of the development and its build process.

The requirements is for a Firmware development team and thus some experience with Licensed cross compilers will be nice to have. The team is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, detail oriented Build Engineer who has demonstrated ability to work in a fast-pace and complex software build environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent experience, or related field required
  • 3-5 years experience or background in Build and Release Engineering
  • 3+ years of programming experience with Windows Command, Linux shell scripting, Python
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux make, and Windows Eclipse or Keil integrated development environments (IDE)
  • 3-5 years of experience setting up and/or maintaining automated build system
  • 3-5 years of understanding the integration between automated software test and the build process
  • 2+ years of experience with product development (including C/C++, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services), service-oriented architecture
  • 3+ years of experience in two or more of make Jenkins / Gerrit / Git

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux and their development tools
  • Proven experience to thrive in a complex software systems involving multi-platform development environment as well as cross-platform firmware development
  • Experience working with Cross-compliers and other firmware development relevant tools
  • Builds and release of Firmware projects will be valuable skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with consumer hardware development process and lifecycle
