the Principal Manufacturing Technical Specialist is responsible for establishing world class manufacturing practices under the direction of a more experienced member of the team. The Principal MTS will seamlessly switch between 1-2 projects at different levels of maturity while maintaining a high level of execution and attention to detail. The Principal MTS will work with Principal and other Senior MTS to develop technical processes, but should also be able to take on projects with little supervision. The Principal MTS will design and execute experiments in the test lab then present data in a concise and precise way to other AME members and executives. The Principal MTS will be able to learn a diverse range of skills ranging from Finite Element models, Statistical Process Control methods, Design of Experiments in order to execute on a wide variety of investigations. The right individual will be the primary contact for and work cross functionally with Product Design, Hardware, DFx, MTM and Test Engineers to deliver products on tight timelines and meet First Pass Yield targets at all xVT builds. Finally, the right individual will have a passion for working on the hardest and complex technical problems with the greatest impact to customer experience at Amazon. Day to Day duties
· Lead manufacturing process implementation for new product introduction including;
o Identifying and mitigating critical manufacturing issues early with the engineering teams
o Work closely with cross functional departments to ensure seamless processes/adherence to AME best practices
· Work with senior members on manufacturing engineering projects relative to cost reduction, product redesign, and manufacturing quality
· Design and drive engineering projects to completion, partnering with cross functional teams to achieve manufacturing goals
· Operate various equipment in test lab
· Evaluate, document, and improve manufacturing methods

· New Technologies:
Scaling new manufacturing technologies and materials for mass production at oversea suppliers and partners
Perform Finite Element Analysis simulations to model experimental results
· Optimization of Processes
: Use advanced statistical methods to develop and optimize mfg. processes resulting reduced risk/cost with and increased first pass yield.
